I am... not doing so great, honestly. It has been tough for me to comprehend the world after each instance of racial injustice, after each unarmed black American is killed by the hands of a broken system while the country watches.

A country quite literally built by the hands of African Americans who did not know that the homes they would build were not for them to sleep. The food they would create was not theirs to eat. The kids they would raise were not theirs to keep.

Evidently time does not heal all wounds. It picks and chooses which wounds to heal. Some wounds we have to carry whether they are seen or not. Forever healing.

Being warm blooded and alive today is not enough of a privilege for me to not feel the breath slip away every time a brother or sister is taken in cold blood. Slipping, until I myself cannot breathe. I have been both sick and tired long before the pandemic and protests however I am forever healing.

I am doing the best I can, you know, business as usual. Thank you for your concern.

Best,
